The department of Ophthalmology is well-equipped to treat most eye diseases and also to impart training to the students of MBBS from Foundation University Medical College . Eye Department is also recognized for FCPS Part-II training and presently one FCPS Part-II trainee is availing this facility.
Clinical Services
An outpatient with 6 clinics equipped with Slit Lamps and related accessories as well as two rooms for clinical investigations and refraction. There are 2 wards (Male & Female) having a total of 30 beds.
There is a dedicated room for Ophthalmic use in the Operation Theatre which is equipped with two eye operation Microscopes with teaching facility, Phacoemulsifier and Millennium Vitrectomy machine.
Diagnostic and non Invasive Therapeutic facilities available are :-
Visual field analyzer (Humphery and lister), Nd :YAG laser , Fundus Camera, frequency doubled YAG Photocoagulation, Biometry, B-Scan Ultrasonography, Pachymetry and equipment for Orthoptic assessment including Hess Chart.
Surgical facilities available are Phocoemulsification, Glaucoma, squint, lid, Lacrimal system and vitreoretinal surgeries.
