Introduction
The goal of the Department of Dental Education & Research (DDER) is to provide high level professional educational services to support and enhance teaching & learning at the Dental College. The Foundation University College of Dentistry has implemented curricular processes in accordance with national and international guidelines. The aim of DDER is to provide educational information, facilitation and capacity building for the implementation of authentic educational practices within the curriculum. Achieving this aim requires activities in the areas of curriculum planning, evaluation and reformation of the various facets of the learning experience. Evaluation of the outcomes of the curriculum and teaching quality is an integral part of this process. DDER assists faculty in delivering high quality undergraduate and postgraduate educational activities. Methods of teaching & learning in practice are evolving rapidly in response to changes in the learning environment and evolving stakeholder requirements, for which competency and learner-centric learning activities such as Mini-CEX and DOPS are being phased-in.
