COMMUNITY MEDICINE DEPARTMENT (8th June 2023)

Community medicine department, FUSH, in the FUI health clock series episode discussed about new a viral disease of public health concern. The health talk was hosted by lecturer, Dr. Anila Rehman and Associate Professor Dr. Tahira Amjad, was the guest of honor.

The session began with the overview about the Monkey Pox disease; the global, regional and local statistics; the signs and symptoms of the disease; the at-risk population; the spread of disease; the diagnostic tests available and treatments options. Dr. Amjad especially emphasized on the role of individuals in preventing the spread of disease along with the role of community, and regional & national government. She specifically highlighted the role of WHO in control and mitigation strategies for this Health Emergency.
