FUI TV REPORT BY DR MARIAM
Faculty from department of community medicine, FUMC recorded an awareness session on FUI Web TV. Dr. Asma Anjum introduced the guest Dr. Mariam Razzaq to discuss on prevention of common infectious diseases in children. She supported her thoughts by narrating latest statistics that Under 5 child mortality is 65 per 1000 live births in Pakistan which shows that our country is still far from achieving sustainable development goals by 2030. She highlighted Pneumonia and Diarrhea as two major causes and gave some effective yet simple proven interventions to decline this trend in mortality. She emphasized that by ensuring personal hygiene, complete immunization, decreasing indoor air pollution and health education we can secure healthy life for every child in our country.
