LQAS POLIO MONITORING TRAINING
Health Services Academy, Islamabad in collaboration with World Health Organisation organized a training course on 23rd and 24th June 2022 to train individuals regarding monitoring of door-to-door polio vaccination coverage via Lot Quality Assurance Sampling (LQAS).
FCPS Residents from the Department of Community Medicine FUSH, Dr. Fatima Ali Raza Mughal and Dr. Mariam Razzaq attended the training, along with twenty-six volunteer students of 4th year MBBS.
The WHO-certified trainers explained the methodology of LQAS along with the importance of monitoring the coverage of an SIA for polio. This was followed by a field activity where participants practiced mapping, sector division in clusters and randomization of houses. This whole group will then participate in one week extensive monitoring of post- polio vaccination campaign from 2nd July, 2022.
