LOT QUALITY ASSURANCE SAMPLING FOR POLIO MONITORING FIELD ACTIVITY
As a joint project of World Health Organization (WHO) and Health Services Academy (HSA), Islamabad, Lot Quality Assurance Sampling (LQAS) for Polio Monitoring was performed in different Tehsils of District Rawalpindi.
FCPS II Residents Dr. Fatima Ali Raza Mughal and Dr. Mariam Razzaq along with twenty-three 4th year MBBS students were recruited from FUMC, after approval from HoD Community Medicine, Prof. Naila Azam.
After a two-day intensive training on the 23rd and 24th of June, including simulated field work, the residents and students were divided into surveyors and supervisors, with three teams being assigned to one supervisor. The total field work duration was 04 days, with one Union Council being covered by a team in 02 days.
The purpose was to check the quality of polio vaccine coverage after a Supplementary Immunization Activity, which was diligently performed by the teams, going door-to-door.
Certificates for the activity were distributed by the Principal, FUMC on the 14th of September 2022.
