FUSH Students Training Report - “Khud Ko Pehchano” youth awareness on Sexual and Reproductive health and rights (SRHR)
The Community Medicine Department, Foundation University Medical College, under the leadership of the Director of Foundation University School of Health Sciences (FUSH) Maj Gen Imran Fazal HI (M) Retd organized training sessions on “Khud Ko Pehchano” youth awareness on Sexual and Reproductive health and rights (SRHR) for the faculty and students of FUSH. In the first phase of this program, after the signing of the MoU between FUI and Green Star Social Marketing, 21 faculty members from all the FUSH institutes (FUMC, FUCD&H, FUCP, and FUCN) were trained as Master Trainers on 24 October 2022 for this youth awareness program. Among these, 11 Master Trainers were from the Department of Community Medicine alone, who contributed the most in the training of students of FUSH. Prof Dr Naila Azam, HOD of Community Medicine, was the main driving force for engaging these Master Trainers from her Department alone. In the second phase of this program, Focal Person FUI, Assoc Professor Dr Tahira Amjad held pre Training orientation sessions of the Master Trainers, organized and supervised the training sessions at FUSH. A total of 433 students from all four institutes of FUSH were trained by the master trainers from 16 to 27 Feb 2023 at different venues of the FUSH Campus. Online pre and post-training test was taken by all the participants. Post-training reports were forwarded to Green Star Social Marketing for issuance of certificates to all the students who participated. The students participated very enthusiastically. This training will empower them to make informed decisions about their lives. Faculty trainers’ participation and dedication towards the training sessions was overwhelming.
The successful conduction of this training was not possible without the institutional, administrative, and IT support of FUSH.
