Admission Requirements MBBS/BDS

Each academic year, the FUSH enrolls 150 students in the MBBS program and 50 students in the BDS program, ensuring a balanced intake that supports quality medical and dental education. Admissions to Foundation University Medical College (FUMC) and Foundation University College of Dentistry (FUCD) are conducted in a fair and transparent manner, offering equal opportunities to all eligible applicants. The colleges maintain a strict policy of non-discrimination, welcoming students regardless of gender, religion, race, color, creed, social class, or domicile, provided they meet the required academic standards for the respective programs. 

Eligibility for admission is determined solely on academic qualifications, ensuring that only deserving candidates are considered for enrollment. The selection process follows a merit-based system, with rankings and eligibility criteria established by the admitting university in accordance with the regulations and guidelines prescribed by the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PM&DC). No preferential treatment is given on any basis other than merit, thereby upholding the principles of fairness, integrity, and academic excellence.

Through this structured and transparent admission process, FUMC and FUCD aim to attract talented students from diverse backgrounds while maintaining high educational standards and complying fully with national regulatory requirements.

Applying to MBBS/BDS

150 students for MBBS and 50 students for BDS are admitted per year. Admission in FUMC and FUCD are open to all students irrespective of gender, religion, colour, creed, class and domicile who are academically qualified for admission to the courses of study offered by the college. The admission is offered strictly on the basis of merit determined by the Admitting University as per the admission criteria set by the PM&DC. 

Applications

Candidates will apply Online with Admitting University i.e, NUMS after the appearance of advertisement in the national press.

FOREIGN SEATS:

  • Any candidate who holds a permanent foreign nationality or is an overseas Pakistani, Green card Holder, Iqama holder, Maple card holder can apply for admission on foreign seat.

  • Candidate must have studied and passed HSSC / 12th grade examination or equivalent from inside or outside Pakistan and possess a certificate from the institution last attended to this effect.

  • Minimum 60% aggregate marks in HSSC (Pre-Medical) / 12th grade or equivalent (Equivalence certificate issued by IBCC for A-Level/12th Grade) having minimum twelve years of education with mandatory subjects of Chemistry and Biology and the rest as optional subjects.
  • Passing NUMS MDCAT - 2025 (Held on Sunday 28th September 2025) with minimum 55% marks for admission in MBBS Program and 50% marks for BDS Program OR MCAT (USA) or UCAT (UK) with 50% marks in the subjects as prescribed in PM&DC Admissions Regulations 3©.

 The decision of the Admission Committee is irrevocable and final. The authorities are not bound to explain the reasons for their decisions to the applicants, their parents or guardians. 

Eligibility Criteria & Merit Calculation for MBBS/BDS

Eligibility Criteria, Merit Calculation have been formulated in the light of Medical and Dental Undergraduate Education (Admissions, Curriculum and Conduct) Regulations (amended) 2021 for Admission in NUMS Public/Private Medical/Dental Colleges

1. Eligibility Criteria

 

  • Pakistani citizens (Including AJK and Gilgit-Baltistan) can apply for admission in all above mentioned colleges on open merit seats.
  • Passing NUMS MDCAT - 2025 (Held on Sunday, 28th September 2025) is mandatory. Pass percentage of NUMS MDCAT is 55% for admission in MBBS Program and 50% for BDS Program.      
  • Minimum 60% aggregate marks in FSc (Pre-Medical) or equivalent (Equivalence certificate issued by IBCC for A-Level/12th Grade) having minimum twelve years of education in atleast three subjects i.e. Biology, Chemistry and either Physics or Mathematics.

Merit calculation will be carried out as per weightage formula mentioned above at para 2a

Merit list will be generated and scrutiny of the educational documents, verification of NUMS MDCAT marks conducted by PM&DC and integration of marks of Hifz e Quran Test will be carried out of finally admitted candidates of each college

After completion of admission process, final merit list of each Private College will be generated and sent to the college accordingly.

College will offer the admission to the candidates according to their merit position and it will be monitored by NUMS for maintaining transparency.

Rs. 2,022,000/- Tuition Fee per year with an increase of 7% in every subsequent year and  Admission Fee Rs. 50,000/-

 Expat/Foreign Students

USD. 18,522/- Tuition Fee per year and  Admission Fee Rs. 50,000/-

Note:

* PM&DC Reg. Fee as per Notified (Current Fee Rs. 15,000/-) & Refundable Security of Rs. 20,000/- will be collected Separately from Local/Expat Students.
* Exam Fee of Rs. 13,000/- will be collected Separately from Local/Expat Students before Final Prof. Exam in Intake 2026 & in subsequent years with10% increase.

Hostel

  1. Hostel facility is available for male and female students on first come first serve basis.
  2. Hostel accommodation charges @ Rs. 26,000/- Per Month (Twin Sharing) and  @ Rs. 52,000/- Per Month (Single) will be collected in advance annually.                       
  3. Food will be provided to students as per existing policy through contractor at mutually agreed menu at present rate @ Rs. 770/- per day (may be revised).
  4. Laundry Charges @Rs. 12,705/- per Annum (may be revised) and advance electricity charges @ 12,500/ Per Annum will be collected separately.

Health Facility

Outdoor Medical Treatment (OPD) Facility will be provided free of charge.

Transport Charges 

The transport facility will be charged to students in accordance with the transport routes  @ Rs. 8,500/- to Rs. 10,000/- per month.

Refund of Fee

Admission Fee will not be refunded in any case.

Tuition Fee & Other Charges will be refunded as per PM&DC / FUI policy.
