The Department of Orthodontics at Foundation University, Islamabad is actively engaged in academic excellence, clinical service, and research. The department provides comprehensive undergraduate and postgraduate education, alongside high-quality patient care services. It is committed to fostering a dynamic learning environment that integrates theoretical knowledge with hands-on clinical experience.

The department caters to both undergraduate and postgraduate training. At the undergraduate level, students are facilitated through structured didactic teaching complemented by supervised clinical exposure, enabling them to develop a strong foundation in orthodontic principles and practice. The department also runs a postgraduate fellowship program accredited by the College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan (CPSP), aimed at producing highly skilled orthodontic specialists.

Clinical services are delivered through a well-equipped, open-design clinic that offers comprehensive orthodontic treatment for patients of all age groups. A wide range of malocclusions and dentofacial deformities are managed using contemporary techniques and evidence-based approaches, ensuring optimal patient outcomes.

The faculty comprises four full-time qualified orthodontists holding prestigious fellowship qualifications. Instruction is carefully balanced between didactic learning and clinical training, allowing students and residents to gain proficiency in diagnosis, treatment planning, and the management of complex orthodontic cases.

The primary mission of the department is to train competent orthodontic practitioners who are capable of addressing the full spectrum of occlusal and dentofacial anomalies. Special emphasis is placed on growth and development, biomechanics, and occlusion. The department also promotes a strong research culture, encouraging students and residents to engage in scientific inquiry, develop critical thinking skills, and contribute meaningfully to the orthodontic literature.

In addition, the department is dedicated to continuous professional development, interdisciplinary collaboration, and the adoption of modern technologies to enhance both teaching and patient care.
