The department of OMFS at FUI is actively involved in academic activities, research projects & patient management. It primarily focuses on undergraduate teaching of 3rd year and final year BDS, both academically & clinically. The house surgeons are also trained in both minor surgical procedures and in preparing patients for operation under GA.

The department of OMFS has been actively involved in post-graduate training for FCPS for the past 7 years. At present we have 11 trainees going through a comprehensive training program.

This department caters for exodontia, implant surgeries and minor oral surgical procedures in FUCD&H. For major surgical procedures under GA, the patient are admitted in FFH. Procedures like trauma surgery, orthognathic surgery, oncological surgery and surgeries of TMJ are routinely done using new techniques and strongly focusing on patient care and follow up.

The department focuses on research and continued dental teaching for which seminars, meetings and presentations are regularly carried out in close collaboration with other medical and dental departments.
